How do you foster the development of the Semantive team?

Ambition is one of our values, which is why we highly value development. We provide an individual training budget for each team member (3,600 PLN per year) and two paid training days, as well as knowledge-sharing sessions like TECHtalks. Additionally, we cover the certification costs for our developers in cloud solutions.

What benefits can I expect at Semantive?

What methodology do you follow for project development?

We follow the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology. The project work is divided into 3-month periods called Program Increments, which are further divided into 10-day sprints.

What will my first days at Semantive look like?

Regardless of your role at Semantive, from your first day of work, you will be assigned a Buddy who will take care of you. If you are a developer, you will be gradually introduced to the project, given time to ask questions, and understand the project's structure. For other roles, on your first day, we will present you with a plan for the near future - we want to ensure that you have a clear idea of what your next days at Semantive will look like

What does work at Semantive look like? Do you work from the office or remotely?

Currently, we work 100% remotely. However, we meet very often in Warsaw and other cities, like Gdansk (approximately every 2/3 months) to collaborate in person and enjoy organized team-building activities in the evenings. Our working hours are flexible. It is essential that you are available for morning meetings (depending on the team, between 9:00 and 10:00) and afternoon dailies with the client (around 16:00 - 16:30). Most of the team works between 10:00 and 16:00.

What does the recruitment process look like?

We strive to make the recruitment process at Semantive enjoyable and efficient for everyone. Depending on the role you are applying for, it may vary slightly.For technical roles, you can expect 2-3 stages, including an HR interview (30-45 minutes) and a technical interview (60 minutes), and sometimes a Culture Fit assessment.

Is there a possibility of collaborating with Semantive on a part-time basis with fewer hours?

Unfortunately, no, currently, we are looking for candidates available for full-time positions.

What about English? Is it required?

Yes, English is very important to us! We collaborate with a client from the USA, where we have daily calls to report our work and propose further solutions. We also frequently collaborate with developers from other countries.

When I join the team of developers, what will be my responsibilities?

Every developer at Semantive is responsible for the entire software development lifecycle. Among your tasks will be writing clean code, creating tests (we test code at multiple levels - unit tests, integration tests, performance tests), modifying infrastructure, deployment, maintenance, and documentation.

What technologies and tools do you work with?

We specialize in Python and Cloud technologies, mainly AWS, but also Azure and GCP. In our daily work, we use Python 3.6, Flask, and a wide range of cloud services, such as AWS S3, Dynamo, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions, and EKS. Our architecture is mostly microservices-based. We use Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaaC). Additionally, we rely on Jenkins for our continuous integration and deployment processes.

How do the days off at Semantive look like in 2024?

15 paid vacation days, 10 paid public holidays, 2 paid training days.
